Nuestra misión es proporcionar una visión clara de la ciencia para desarrollar prácticas de Gestión Forestal Sostenible que mejoren el secuestro de carbono al tiempo que se aseguran el suministro de productos forestales sostenibles y protegen la biodiversidad y los servicios ecosistémicos en futuros escenarios de cambio climático.. Combinamos herramientas tecnológicas como imágenes por satélite, minería de datos y modelización climática con enfoques participativos para reducir la distancia entre quien trabaja sobre el terreno, la ciencia, las políticas, los mercados del carbono y la sociedad en general. INFORMA está financiado por el Programa de Investigación e Innovación Horizon Europe de la Comisión Europea.

Casos de estudio

Los casos de estudio del INFORMA se seleccionaron como ejemplos prácticos, diversos y complementarios, de Unidades de Gestión Forestal (FMU) en Europa. Representan las cinco grandes regiones biogeográficas del continente, que corresponden al 96% del territorio de la UE y al 94% de sus bosques.
